Instagram export settings 2026
Export once, correctly, and let the platform do only one compression pass.
Video
H.264 or HEVC, 30 fps, 8 to 12 Mbps for 1080p, audio 128 kbps or above. Do not export at 60 fps unless the movement needs it.
Photos
JPEG at quality 85 to 95, sRGB colour profile, 1080 px wide. Avoid ProRAW exports: the colour shift is unpredictable.
Colour
Work in sRGB, not Display P3, unless you test it. Instagram converts to sRGB and a wide-gamut export can look dull after conversion.
The one rule
Every save and re-upload is another compression pass. Finish the edit, export once, post once.
What bitrate should I use?
8 to 12 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps.
