The short guide
Instagram Top Nine
Nine posts, three by three, one metric. The Instagram top nine is the December ritual everyone recognises — and almost nobody defines.
One sentence
The Instagram top nine is a recap of your year: the nine posts you published that earned the most of one metric — usually likes — arranged in a 3 × 3 grid, the shape of your profile, and posted as a single image or a Story.
That is the whole definition. Everything else — which metric, which window, whose selection — is a choice, and the choices are what make two grids look nothing alike.

- ExamplesWhat separates a recap people save from a collage.
- How to make itThe method, sizes and timing.
- The appAutomatic ranking from published posts.
What it is not
- Not an official feature. Instagram does not build it, and there is no button anywhere in the app.
- Not a photo collage. Picking nine photos from your camera roll is a mood board; the numbers never enter the picture.
- Not a Wrapped. “Instagram Wrapped” borrows Spotify's word for a product Instagram does not ship.
The nine are not your best photos. They are the posts your audience answered.
The app builds this card from your published posts.
Prevz reads your Instagram account (optional, read-only), ranks your nine by likes, saves or comments, and exports a Story at 1080 × 1920 or a Post at 1080 × 1350.
